Frequently Asked Questions

At Deep Dive Taxes, we know taxes and running a business can feel overwhelming — especially when it comes to taxes, payroll, and compliance.

These FAQs are here to help you find clarity, simplify your next steps, and discover how our team can make running your business less hassle and more growth.

Support And Services Explained

A: Filing on your own may seem cheaper or easier, but software can only ask basic questions. It cannot understand your full situation, identify all the credits and deductions you qualify for, or spot errors that could cost you money.

With Deep Dive Taxes, you get real expertise, real accuracy, and real support. I take the time to understand your life, your income, and your goals so your return is done correctly and optimized. You get peace of mind knowing everything was handled by a trained professional.

A: Yes. If you are my tax client, you are never alone. I provide support all year, not just during tax season. If you receive a notice or have a question at any point during the year, you can reach out and you can trust that I will help you understand the issue and walk you through the next steps.

A: Tax preparation pricing varies based on the complexity of your return and the forms required. Every situation is different, so fees are customized to your specific needs. There’s no one-size-fits-all price—cost depends on whether your return is personal, business, or both, and which forms and schedules are needed.

If you're behind on taxes

A: Not at all. You are not alone and this happens far more often than people realize. Life gets busy. Things change. Stress happens. Whatever the reason, it does not matter. There is no judgment here. Our role is to help you get caught up in a safe and organized way. We make the process simple and manageable. Once it is done, you will feel lighter, clearer, and more in control. We focus on moving forward — not how you got here.

A: No. Asking for help is actually the responsible thing to do. The IRS is much more cooperative when someone takes action on their own. We help you file everything voluntarily and communicate on your behalf if needed. You do not have to do this alone.

A: Yes. You do not need everything perfect before coming to us. We help rebuild records, organize what you do have, and fill in the gaps. This is something we do all the time. No shame. No overwhelm. Just clear steps and support.

Payroll for Business Owners

A: It depends on your business structure. If you have an S Corporation and you actively work in the business, the IRS requires you to pay yourself a reasonable salary through payroll. If you are a single member LLC without an S Corp election, you are not required to be on payroll. We will review your structure and income and guide you the right way.

A: Payroll helps you pay yourself consistently and keep business and personal money separate. For S Corp owners, payroll is how you lower self-employment tax and take legal owner distributions. It also helps if you want financing, retirement contributions, or clean records.

A: When your business is earning enough to pay you reliably. This is often when income becomes steady or when electing S Corp. If you are unsure, we simply look at your numbers and make a comfortable plan.

A: No. We offer full service payroll that is compliant with federal and state laws. We handle setup, tax payments, filings, reports, and year end forms. You can be as involved or hands off as you want. Most clients simply approve payroll and we take care of the rest.

Employees vs Contractors (1099)

A: It comes down to control. If you decide how, when, and where the person works, they are likely an employee. Contractors work independently and control their own schedule and tools. We will review your situation and classify correctly.

A: Misclassifying someone can lead to IRS or state penalties. Doing it correctly protects your business and your workers. Employees also receive benefits like unemployment and earnings history for retirement. It builds trust and stability in your business.

A: Yes. We handle onboarding, setup, payroll processing, tax filings, and year end reports. You don’t need to figure any of it out alone.
